Not only a display of piloting skills, but above all a demonstration of the practical use of an air rescue helicopter will be presented by pilots of DSA together with paramedics from the Hradec Králové Region Emergency Medical Service at this year’s Aviatická, taking place on May 30–31 at Hradec Králové Airport. The yellow EC135T2+ rescue helicopter is an impressive sight at airshows, but in everyday operations it represents invaluable hope that patients in critical condition receive timely professional care and rapid transport to specialized hospital facilities.
“Two years ago, the yellow rescue helicopter of DSA made its debut at Aviatická. Its demonstration featuring a rescuer on the hoist greatly impressed spectators, which is why we decided to include it again in this year’s program,” says Jan Rudzinskyj from the Aviatická organizing team.
“With the relocation of Aviatická from Pardubice to Hradec Králové, the event is now taking place at DSA’s home base, and we are pleased that our rescue helicopter will be part of the flying display here,” says Daniel Tuček of DSA, adding: “The audience will see a backup crew from the Hradec Králové base, designated Kryštof 6. The primary helicopter and its crew will, of course, continue fulfilling their daily duties from the base located at the University Hospital in Hradec Králové. On board the demonstration helicopter will be a DSA pilot and paramedics from the Hradec Králové Region Emergency Medical Service. It will be one of several well-coordinated crews operating on a 24-hour basis in Hradec Králové, covering mainly the regions of Hradec Králové and Pardubice. As our operational area includes rugged and often inaccessible terrain, our crews are prepared to carry out missions using rope techniques when necessary—and this is exactly the type of intervention they will demonstrate to Aviatická visitors.”

At the beginning of July last year, it marked 35 years since the launch of air rescue operations in Hradec Králové. For the base with the call sign Kryštof 06, the year 2025 was exceptional in terms of the number of missions—the highest in its history. Last year, the Hradec Králové air rescue crew responded to 988 incidents across five regions. In 895 cases, the yellow DSA helicopter was deployed, while in another 93 cases, a doctor and paramedic responded by ground ambulance.
EC135 helicopters, along with DSA pilots and technical personnel, also provide air rescue services at five other bases across the Czech Republic. Across these bases, the yellow helicopters carried out a total of 4,267 life-saving missions last year,” adds Daniel Tuček.
Aviatická remains a traditional full-day event for the whole family. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature a varied ground program with numerous presentations and activities for children and adults alike. The flying display itself will last more than five hours.
