Biplanes from the 1930s

The 34th edition of the Aviatická Pouť, taking place on May 30–31, 2026, at Hradec Králové Airport, will feature aircraft from the golden era of aviation within its more than five-hour flying program. This period — the 1920s and 1930s — is inseparably linked with biplanes, and these iconic aircraft will also appear in the skies above Hradec Králové.

“From the collection of historic aircraft based at Hangar 69 in Landshut, Germany, a group of historic German Bücker biplanes from the 1930s will fly to our event. This will include two aerobatic Bü 133 Jungmeister aircraft and one training Bü 131 Jungmann. The pilots perform a beautiful formation display with these aircraft, which is always very pleasing for spectators to watch. Accompanying them will also be a more modern training aircraft type from the 1950s — the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. In comparison with the Bückers, visitors will clearly see how training aircraft evolved within just two decades,” explains Petr Kovačka from the Aviatická Pouť organizing team.

His colleague Jan Rudzinskyj adds:

“The Bücker biplanes have their own unique charm, and once you fly one for the first time, it is easy to fall in love with them. Among enthusiasts around the world, it is often said that a Bücker is a lifelong love. I can personally confirm this, as I have been flying one of these aircraft for more than fifteen years. The Bü 131 also has a connection to the history of Czechoslovak aviation. As early as 1935, the Ringhoffer-Tatra company purchased a license for this type and subsequently produced 35 aircraft under the designation T-131. The type was also manufactured during the German occupation within the Protectorate, and after the war production continued at the Aero factory under the designations C-4 and C-104, with a total of 260 aircraft produced,” adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

The Aviatická Pouť is a traditional full-day event for the whole family. Both Saturday and Sunday will also feature an extensive ground program with presentations and activities for children and adults. The flying program itself will last more than five hours.
