LOM PRAHA is preparing several premieres and surprises for Aviatická.
For many years, the state-owned enterprise LOM PRAHA, together with its Flight Training Centre in Pardubice, has been one of the traditional partners of Aviatická in Pardubice. The same will apply to this year’s Aviatická in Hradec Králové, which will take place over the weekend of May 30–31 at Hradec Králové Airport.
“Last year, we saw the premiere of the brand-new L-39NG Skyfox aircraft at Aviatická. For this year, we have again agreed with LOM PRAHA on their participation with these aircraft, and directly from the Flight Training Centre we have been promised that their experienced instructors will prepare a small surprise with this new type for Aviatická,” says Petr Kovačka from the Aviatická organizing team, and continues:
“These aircraft in CLV colors may not be completely new anymore, but they are still a rarity at airshows, so we are pleased they will fly to Hradec Králové. LOM PRAHA has also prepared additional aircraft for the program, including the premiere presentation of new Zlin training aircraft. Moreover, aerobatic pilot and CLV instructor Martin Šonka will demonstrate his skills in the Z-242 Zeus. It will be a different style of aerobatics compared to his performance in the Extra, as well as different from his display in the Zlin Z-142C AF from CLV. These aircraft are gradually being retired after more than three decades of service and replaced by the new Zeus models. From the display, spectators will notice not only the different design of the new aircraft but also significantly improved flight performance. There is certainly much to look forward to.

Helicopter training also takes place at the Flight Training Centre, where the light Enstrom 480B-G helicopters play a key role. Their displays are already familiar from previous Aviatická events, but audiences are always impressed by their dynamics and maneuverability—it can be said that during their performance, the small helicopter fills the entire sky. I can reveal that a small surprise is also being prepared this year in cooperation with DSA, the representative of this American helicopter manufacturer. What exactly it will be, I don’t know myself—and I will be just as surprised as the audience at Aviatická,” adds Petr Kovačka with a hint of mystery.
LOM PRAHA and the CLV Pardubice also operate historic aircraft from the collections of the Military History Institute Prague. “Visitors often ask whether the legendary C-11 aircraft will appear with its traditionally excellent piloting. The answer is yes—and not just that aircraft,” уточňuje Petr Kovačka.
“It is no secret that Aviatická in Hradec Králové will feature the largest presentation of the state enterprise LOM PRAHA in terms of Flight Training Centre equipment among nearly two dozen public events this year. Among other highlights, spectators will have one of the last opportunities to witness advanced flying displays with the legendary L-39C Albatros, which LOM PRAHA will retire from service by the end of 2026,” says Pavel Lang, spokesperson for LOM PRAHA.
Aviatická remains a traditional full-day event for the whole family. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature a varied ground program with numerous presentations and activities for children and adults alike. The flying display itself will last more than five hours.
