German Typhoon in the Skies over Hradec Králové

The flying program of Aviatická has always featured a diverse mix of aircraft from various eras of aviation history. The same will be true for the 34th edition of Aviatická, taking place over the weekend of May 30–31, 2026, at its new venue—Hradec Králové Airport. And visitors truly have something to look forward to.

“The most modern military aircraft to be presented in Hradec Králové will be the twin-engine jet Eurofighter Typhoon. Two aircraft will arrive for Aviatická—one for the flying display and the other for static display. Both will come from Germany,” explains Petr Kovačka from the organizing team, introducing the fastest aircraft of this year’s show, and continues:

“The Typhoon is a joint project of several Western European countries, designed as a unified multirole combat aircraft. The first prototype flew in 1994, and the German Luftwaffe became the first operator of production aircraft, receiving its first units in 2005. There was strong interest in showcasing the aircraft at airshows, but initially it was demonstrated by manufacturer test pilots. It wasn’t until 2022 that the German Air Force established its Typhoon Demo Team. Each display pilot must undergo special training to perform in front of the public. The first demonstration pilot of the German Typhoon is Alex ‘Noble’ Stegmair. Under his control, spectators can witness the exceptional performance of the Typhoon firsthand. During the display, the aircraft seems to fill the entire sky, transitioning from horizontal to vertical flight in moments, disappearing into great heights, only to return almost instantly after a turn back over the display area. It is truly an impressive experience for spectators, while the pilot often endures forces of up to nine G,” adds Petr Kovačka.

Aviatická remains a traditional full-day event for the whole family. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature a varied ground program with numerous presentations and activities for children and adults alike. The flying display itself will last more than five hours.
