🇬🇧 PR7 – World War I scene and premiere of the Aviation Fair Squadron

Aviation Fair is a pioneer of composite scenes connecting flight and ground performances. This trend will continue in the 32nd year, taking place on the weekend of June 1 and 2nd, 2024 in Pardubice. One of the displays will be dedicated to the battles of the First World War, 110th anniversary of which we will remember this year. In addition to well-known machines, aircraft from the Aviation Fair Squadron will also perform for the first time in the demonstration. „In 2001, Jiří Šubrt organized the first humble scene from the First World War period with a group of soldiers in historic uniforms and a pair of ultralight planes.

It came about quite spontaneously back then and was flown without any script. Such a form of demonstration was a success with the audience, and everything was perfected in the following years. Today, we can no longer imagine the program of Aviation Fair without composite scenes,“ says Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizing staff of the Aviation Fair. „This year’s demonstration, machines from the Metoděj Vlach Foundation Fund from Mladá Boleslav will perform again, and aircraft from the new Aviation Fair Squadron will have their premiere in the composite demonstration. These are machines of the ultralight category, built to mimic machines of the period. The Aviation Fair squadron currently has three aircraft for this purpose. A Nieuport 11, already known to the spectators of the Aviation Fairs from the previous years, and the Aviation Fair Squadron has been operating it since the end of 2019. It is easy to remember for the audience thanks to its red fuselage color. The famous French pilot Jean Navarre flew in similarly painted machine less than a century ago. Another machine is the Austro-Hungarian fighter biplane Aviatik Berg D.I and the third piece is the Morane-Saulnier MS.139 powered by a Verner nine-cylinder radial engine. The planes have their new home at the airport in Kunětice,“ adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

The Aviation Fair is a traditional all-day program for the whole family.

On Saturday and Sunday, there is also a rich ground program with a number of performances and activities for children and adults. The flying program itself will last over five hours. More information about news from the upcoming program can be obtained at www.aviatickapout.cz
